ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ’s Center for Supply Chain Management held its inaugural Supply Chain Symposium in Spring 2021. This three-part series focused on Disruptions in Supply and Demand. The Future of Supply Chains Through Disruptions

With the pivotal insights learned from the first two sessions of the 2021 Supply Chain Symposium, Session 3 focuses on the relevant question of 'What's next in the supply chain world?' This session delves into the future of our supply chains and some key thoughts on what could be coming down the pipeline. Dr. Mark Cotteleer, Managing Director - Supply Chain and Operations Consulting at Deloitte, will bring to light some predictions, expectations, and a global view of supply chains. Mark will be joined by Greg Bowman, Vice President of Corporate Development & Chief Innovation Officer at Siemens Government Technologies and Mark LaViolette, Specialist Leader at Deloitte. From responsiveness, to resiliency, to adaptability, all three speakers will address how to mitigate risk and offer advice on how to build a better supply chain going forward.

Industry Disruptions and Resilience in Supply Chains

Moderator: Andrea Parnau – Director, Sourcing Operations, Plexus Corp.
Andrea Parnau has been passionate about Supply Chain for the last 15 years holding various roles in strategic sourcing, planning, and inventory management at Direct Supply Inc and Briggs & Stratton. Today, she is the Sourcing Operations Director at Plexus. She is also a proud mother to her 5 year old, Carter, and 3 year old, Charlotte. Andrea is a graduate from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a Finance and Economics degree and has her MBA from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Session 2 is an exciting panel of engaged leaders in Supply Chain Management who will delve into the details of how their respective organizations handle global disruptions, with special focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, this panel will share suggestions and advice, based on their own experiences, on how to recover and become resilient in the face of global disruptions that affect supply chains.

Summary : Jeff McCorstin, UPS President, Global Customs Brokerage & North America Supply Chain Solutions and Wes Wheeler, UPS President of Global Healthcare discuss the challenges COVID created in the Global Supply Chains, from PPE moves in Q2/Q3 2020 to global distribution of COVID-19 Vaccines in Q4 2020 and beyond. Jeff and Wes give an overview of the challenges and lessons learned from the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. This exciting session focuses on the disruptions COVID put on global markets, the UPS experiences supporting these efforts as well as the resiliency factor that UPS is known for and some crucial steps going forward.
