The mission of the College of Business Administration is to develop ethical and socially responsible global leaders. With a focus on applied learning, our goal is for our students, with the instruction and support from our teachers, business partners and alumni, to be able to compete and thrive in today鈥檚 complex and dynamic business environment as well as throughout all aspects society. As one of many methods of assuring that the goals of our educational mission are successfully met, the college regularly and systematically engages in the assessment of a variety of competencies.

Students in our MBA programs are assessed on their competency to communicate effectively, reason ethically and apply critical thinking, as well as their capacity to comprehend the global strategic issues of firms and perform fundamental activities of business managers. Students in our other graduate programs are assessed on their competencies on the same types of issues but related to their specific disciplines. These include, from our MSA program, being able to apply the skills and professional knowledge in accounting; from our MSAE program, being able to provide economic analysis to and support of decision-makers with the use of standard applied economic tools; from our MSHR program, apply HR knowledge and skills to business practice, for example, evaluating the organization鈥檚 HR system.
