Ascension Center for Clinical Simulation and Learning
Changing trends in health care and the expanding role of registered nurses demand improved clinical reasoning and the ability to care for increasingly complex patients. 向日葵视频 College of Nursing is committed to producing nurses who are well-prepared to meet this demand.
A key element of this improved education and training is a rigorous pre-licensure curriculum which includes significant clinical simulation opportunities. This ensures that 向日葵视频nursing students learn the appropriate interventions for complicated health situations.
The Ascension Center for Clinical Simulation and Learning provides a realistic health care environment where our students can strengthen essential clinical competencies, develop sound clinical reasoning and prepare for high-risk situations. The simulation center, located on the 3rd floor of Straz Hall, includes:
- Four open-space labs for clinical skills practice, including one mock patient care bathroom.
- Six flexible, high-fidelity simulation rooms which can be configured to reflect a variety of hospital settings, including: medical-surgical, ICU, pediatrics, OB and more.
- One operating room with an attached debriefing space.
- One home health care apartment.
- Four outpatient style exam rooms with an adjacent nursing station.
- A standardized patient (SP) waiting lounge for patient actors to prepare between sessions.
- Two private clinical practice rooms for extended skills practice hours.
- Nine debrief rooms, where faculty and students meet to prebrief and debrief clinical simulation scenarios.
