Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin and is highly diverse, with about 39 percent African American, 20 percent Hispanic/Latinx, and five percent Asian citizens. Milwaukee combines a dynamic urban community with a rich cultural heritage.
PARKS & REC:
Milwaukee boasts easy accessibility to rivers and other outdoor recreation including over 150 parks, gardens and trails -plenty of outdoor space for you, your family, and beloved pets.The Milwaukee, Menomonee and Kinnickinnic Rivers meet in downtown Milwaukee and flow into Lake Michigan - boating, kayaking, and canoeing are welcome. There are in Milwaukee County along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The Milwaukee County Zoological Gardens have family free days throughout the calendar year. The Mitchell Park Horticulture Conservatory, aka The Domes, is a living museum with tropical, jungle, and desert plants from around the world. Since Wisconsin is in the Midwest, we experience all four seasons.
ART & CULTURE:
The city is recognized for its art and historical museums, fine dining, and hotels. Milwaukee has two opera companies, a nationally renowned ballet and symphony, and several live theatre companies. The Milwaukee Art Museum houses a Collection of more than 30,000 works, seeing nearly 400,000 visitors each year. America's Black Holocaust Museum is a historical and memorial museum founding by a lunching survivor that commemorates the Black Holocaust from pre-captivity in Africa to the present day; the ABHM is located in Milwaukee's Brozeville neighborhood.
MUSIC:
惭颈濒飞补耻办别别鈥檚 is the world鈥檚 largest music festival, with three weekends full of national and local music, art, and food. There are so many clubs and ballrooms to watch your favorite show, including the iconic, haunted Eagles Club aka The Rave. Famous acts originating from the Milwaukee area include: Violent Femmes, Liberace, Les Paul, Trixie Mattel, and Al Jarreau.
MKE SPORTS:
- Milwaukee is home of the the 2021 NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks (#BucksIn6) - their second championship in franchise history, lead by front-runner #34 Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The late U.S. Senator Herb Kohl was a long-time owner of the team. The Bucks' home games take place in the Deer District at Fiserv Forum, which hosts a plethora of events including concerts, conventions, and more. - American Family Field, formally known as Miller Park, is where Major Baseball League's Milwaukee Brewers play. #BrewCrew! The Milwaukee Brewers appeared in the World Series in 1982, but are still awaiting their moment in the sun. They are unmistakably named after the city's rich brewing history.
- The American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals also call Milwaukee home. In 2024, the franchise had a record 19-game winning streak, the second longets in AHL history. The Admirals play in the UW-Milwaukee Panthers Arena, located in the heart of downtown.
BREW CITY:
Milwaukee claims the title of "The Beer Capital of the World" with many of its neighborhoods and theaters named after iconic and historical breweries in the area. The city's first brewery opened in 1840, with many more to follow, providing employment to German and Polish immigrants, elevating the economy. Milwaukee's is strong, with current establishments providing a welcoming community for families and tourists alike!
