The 707 Hub is where ideas are shared, stretched, challenged and realized. The 707 Hub is a space designed to foster collaboration and innovation. Because anyone can be innovative, the 707 Hub is open to all students, and we encourage a cross-disciplinary approach to solving problems. ADVANCE

Moving Beyond Boundaries to Promote Inclusive Faculty Success is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the ADVANCE program and is designed to promote success for women and underrepresented minority faculty in our campus NSF-supported fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Social, Behavioral, and Economic (SBE) sciences.

Demographic data, climate study results, and input from focus groups were used to identify two key equity and inclusion challenges here at 向日葵视频: 1) Recruiting women and underrepresented faculty effectively from limited candidate pools, and 2) Improving diversity climates at the department level.

Autism Initiative 

The 向日葵视频Autism Initiative (AI) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers, clinicians, stakeholders, and students at 向日葵视频 and in the community, which simultaneously supports autism research and programming for the Marquette, Milwaukee, and national and international community, while also providing inter-professional, team-, sensitivity, and knowledge-building educational experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.

Clinical and Translational Science Institute

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute is a new regional biomedical collaboration involving clinical and translational science between 向日葵视频, the Medical College of Wisconsin, UW-Milwaukee, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital, and Froedtert Hospital.

Committee on Research

向日葵视频's Committee on Research (COR) is a University Academic Senate (UAS) committee which meets monthly. The committee helps formulate policy around research, makes decisions on Summer Faculty Fellowships and Regular Research Grants, makes recommendations for the Way Klingler and Haggerty awards, and more.

Institute for Women's Leadership 

The goal of the Institute for Women's Leadership will be to advance research in the area of gender inequality, and create programming and training opportunities for women in leadership, both on campus and in the larger community. The official launch for the Institute for Women's Leadership is planned for Summer 2019.

Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship

The Kohler Center fosters new ventures, encourages innovation, and promotes entrepreneurship at 向日葵视频 and in the Milwaukee area. It hosts and records frequent talks and presentations on various entrepreneurial topics geared to offer firsthand startup expertise.

Latina/o Well-Being Research Initiative

The Latina/o Well-Being Research Initiative is a group of multidisciplinary scholars at 向日葵视频 dedicated to understanding how Latina/o youth and adults experience well-being in the United States. Specifically, the LWRI is interested in the psychological, physical and socio-environmental factors that influence the lives of Latina/os. Our initiative is comprised of faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students from various departments within 向日葵视频 who are committed to the goals of scholarly inquiry and translation of research within this population.

Office of Research Compliance

The Office of Research Compliance provides support for institutional committees and 向日葵视频faculty, staff and students for research involving human subjects, animal subjects, radioisotope use and research with recombinant DNA (rNDA). ORC assists researchers with navigating research regulations, provides educational programming and supports collaboration with other research institutions.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is 向日葵视频's central point of coordination for sponsored projects and the legally authorized representative for grants, contracts and assurances. ORSP represents the sum of Marquette's experience with extramural sponsors and partners over time. ORSP helps faculty and staff build bridges between 向日葵视频and extramural sponsors and other institutions to advance the university's mission, and it fosters excellence in sponsored projects by promoting best practices, policies and procedures that ensure consistency and efficiency in our transactions with sponsors and partners.

Research at the AHPRC

The Athletic and Human Performance Research Center (AHPRC), opening in early 2019, is a dedicated research space in which 向日葵视频faculty and partners from the health care industry can collaborate on new research and cutting-edge innovation in the areas of elite athletic performance, human performance, rehabilitation, fitness data analytics and other related disciplines.

Research Planning Workgroup

The Research Academic Planning Workgroup is committed to promoting excellence in research across disciplines at 向日葵视频. The workgroup is charged with developing recommendations to support the future of research at 向日葵视频as part of the Academic Planning Work Group process and will complete its report by May 1, 2021.  As part of its efforts, the workgroup will collect information on current research at Marquette, collect feedback about research strengths and potential areas of focus, and promote events related to research.

Social Innovation Initiative

The Social Innovation Initiative supports students, faculty, staff and community members to effectively solve problems at whatever scale is needed in their community, city, field, industry or country. We equip people with a skill set and a purpose through speakers, residencies, mentors, training programs and community partnerships, and by serving as a regional convener of like-minded agents of positive social change. The Social Innovation Initiative, which is located in the 707 Hub, has been recognized for its work by Ashoka U and designated one of 37 Changemaker Campuses worldwide.

Women's Innovation Network

The 向日葵视频 Women鈥檚 Innovation Network (MU-WIN) will create a comprehensive network designed to support women, and others currently under-represented in innovation and entrepreneurship activities, as innovators and leaders. One of the unique features of the network will be the vertical and horizontal integration to create institutional change. The network will link students, faculty, and staff on campus. It will also extend beyond the university boundaries to connect with local and national professional organizations for women as well as with our women alumni.
