Private outside scholarships are facilitated through the Office of Student Financial Aid and outside organizations. Spanning a variety of different disciplines, students should be aware that private offerings have different application requirements, deadlines and qualifications.
Students must report all outside scholarships from sources other than the federal, state and university programs. Need-based aid may be reduced when a student receives a combination of need based aid and outside scholarships that exceed their financial need. In addition, a reduction of merit awards may occur if the total of all tuition-specific awards exceeds the total cost of tuition or if the value of all awards (including the outside scholarships) exceeds the total cost of attendance. Applicant must be a current high school senior that intends to enroll full-time at a four-year college and who has a minimum GPA of 2.0. The student must engage in some kind of activity that other teenagers don't typically do.
The F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, be enrolled full-time and qualify to become a commissioned officer. Student must be pursuing an advanced degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, psychiatric nursing, optometry or psychology. The U.S. Army Medical Department will pay 100 percent of tuition for a graduate-level health care degree and a $2,000 monthly stipend. Recipient is obligated to serve one year of active duty for every year the scholarship is received.
