Alternative Loan Lender List
Alternative Loans are non-federal educational loans available from a variety of national lending institutions. Minimums and maximums vary for these loan programs but all require a satisfactory credit history. The following chart provides an alphabetical list of all lenders that ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵstudents have used over the past 5 years. This list is in no way exclusive or exhaustive of all existing lenders. The Office of Student Financial Aid will honor requests to certify other alternative educational loans that do not appear on this list.
Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan Guide
A Direct Parent PLUS Loan is a low-interest rate loan to help you pay for your child's education beyond high school. The U.S. Department of Education is the lender, not a bank or a credit union. Direct Parent PLUS Loan funds are usually applied directly to your child's school account. A Direct Parent PLUS Loan is not a grant or scholarship; therefore, you must repay the money received. You can borrow a Direct Parent PLUS Loan for your child if he or she is a "dependent student."
