Klingler College of Arts and Sciences Award Recipients
Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award
DR. NANCY R. NOESKE, ARTS '59
Milwaukee
Everything Nancy touches doesn’t actually turn to gold, but it sure comes close. In addition to 40-plus successful years in the private, nonprofit and educational sectors, she founded an executive search firm and management consulting firm.
Professional Achievement Award
DR. HENRY K.H. KWAN, ARTS '71
Summit, N.J.
If Claritin helps you breathe, you have Henry to thank. He helped develop the drug — and Afrin, Nasonex and Intron. Now Principal of Kwan Consulting, he has come a long way since his days huffing and puffing on Marquette’s tennis team.
A Person for Others Award
GILBERT D. SEDOR, ARTS '59, LAW '61
Janesville, Wis.
Gil’s 2003 retirement from law didn’t slow him down at all. The Korean War veteran continues to volunteer with nonprofit groups and helped build Hedberg Public Library and the Rotary Botanical Gardens, both in Janesville, to name only a few.
Young Alumnus of the Year Award
WILLIAM J. SCHMITT, ARTS '01
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
When crisis calls, Bill answers. As the emergency adviser for Catholic Relief Services in Latin America and the Caribbean, he spends considerable time supporting relief and recovery efforts in Haiti. But he is prepared to deliver aid wherever — and whenever — it is needed.
