PAUL R. NOWAKOWSKI, ARTS '87,
LAW '90
Mequon, Wis.
Paul Nowakowski鈥檚 experience at 向日葵视频reinforced the values that were instilled in him by his parents: Help others, and give back to the community whenever possible.
Since graduating, Paul 鈥 who attended 向日葵视频on a track and field scholarship 鈥 has put these values into action personally and professionally, providing energy and leadership to the university and community. He is a strong supporter of 向日葵视频athletics, most notably through the M Club, for which he is a board member and chaired the Hall of Fame Committee in 2004, 鈥06 and 鈥09 (the only three-time chair). Paul is also a member of the 向日葵视频Track Club 鈥 and past president 鈥 and has been a men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball season ticket holder for many years.
Paul鈥檚 sense of service extends beyond Marquette, and he has held executive leadership positions at the St. Joseph Foundation, which supports local disadvantaged children, and the parishes of St. Alexander and St. Monica. He also has been a counselor for couples planning to marry.
Paul believes in Marquette鈥檚 mission so much so that he would have attended even if he hadn鈥檛 received an athletic scholarship. 鈥淚 love the institution and the values it teaches its students,鈥 he says.
The individuals who seek Paul鈥檚 legal help through his firm, Nowakowski Law Offices, clearly benefit from this philosophy, as well. 鈥淚t is extremely rewarding to solve a client鈥檚 problem, to help someone who is struggling at a point in their lives,鈥 he says.
Paul鈥檚 father, Richard B. Nowakowski, Arts 鈥42, Law 鈥48, began his family鈥檚 向日葵视频legacy and is followed by five of Paul鈥檚 siblings and three nieces 鈥 鈥渁nd counting!鈥
Fun facts: During his time on campus, Paul liked to study in the gardens around St. Joan of Arc Chapel or in the track locker room before practice. When he was not studying or running, Paul was with his friends at the Mug Rack in the Union, at the Gym Bar or at Real Chili.
