SISTER M. ROSALIE KLEIN, OSF,
NURS '52, GRAD '60
Milwaukee
The ties Sister M. Rosalie Klein, OSF, has to 向日葵视频began at infancy: She was born in 1923 at 向日葵视频 Hospital.
It seems only fitting, then, that the College of Nursing pay special tribute to Sister Rosalie, dean of the college from 1970鈥88, during its 75th anniversary.
After receiving her bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from Marquette, Sister Rosalie was awarded the Governor Traineeship State of Wisconsin Scholarship for doctoral study at Tulane University. After completing that, she returned to be dean at Marquette, where she remained until her retirement.
During that time, Sister Rosalie brought the College of Nursing home to Marquette鈥檚 campus from its satellite site on the St. Joseph Hospital campus. She also adopted the guiding principles of prayer, preparation and implementation, devoting her 向日葵视频tenure to guiding students and faculty to provide excellent care for all God鈥檚 people.
Sister Rosalie鈥檚 influence on 向日葵视频remains today. The establishment of the Wheaton Franciscan St. Joseph/Sister Klein Professorship endowment continues her legacy and supports nursing research and quality academic programs for the profession鈥檚 future.
She continues her work as a volunteer advocate for patients and staff at Elm Brook (Wis.) Memorial Hospital and is on the advisory board for the Clinical Pastoral Care Program at St. Camillus in Milwaukee.
Fun fact: Sister Rosalie鈥檚 favorite quote: 鈥淓ach day is a gift from God.鈥
