Sometimes writers go out of their way to let us know how much working with a writing center tutor has helped with their work. Here are a few examples:
- I found it a good use of my time. We spent about half of the time working on specific wording, paragraphs and sections, the other half we spent on organization and structure of the document. Many of the things we discussed on specific questions, I was able to apply in the rest of the document. We do plan on going back for the next document . (I had many questions and we did not have enough time to cover all of them. Fortunately, the student I was working with was willing to spend extra time with me.) – From an undergraduate student working on a group project in engineering
- I just want to let you know about the excellence of one of the writing tutors I work with. She is always on time, consistent and very professional in providing her service. When I work with her, I can feel her genuine and positive working attitude. She not only helps me working on my current paper, she also explains the grammar or structures related to the mistakes I made. I see the improvement in both my paper and my writing ability. Thanks for having such wonderful writing tutors at your center! – From a first-year student
- I was working on my comp exam for my master’s degree. I just wanted to let you know that I passed and will graduate in December! Thank you for being there for me. I was a bit stressed out but in that short hour I think you helped ease my mind that I was on the right track. – From an MA student in a healthcare profession
- Thank you again for the great work you all do in the writing center. Even though I have been writing papers for more than 15 years, I still find your services helpful. – From a graduate student in philosophy
- I'm emailing the writing center to thank [my tutor] for all of his help and patience with revising my nursing grad school comprehensive exams. Not only did I pass the exam, I will also graduate in December. I am so fortunate for his help, I can't express my gratitude enough. – From a graduate student in nursing
