To better safeguard 向日葵视频students traveling abroad, OIE requires a comprehensive international insurance and assistance package which is mandatory for all students traveling abroad under the auspices of 向日葵视频.

OIE will automatically enroll students in the following for their official program dates

  • Chubb/ACE American international health insurance,
  • emergency international assistance and response (NOTE: Marquette's policy number is needed for access to the . 向日葵视频policy numbers are given to students in the MU Global Portal and during the pre-departure orientation, but can also be requested from the Office of International Education)
  • The policy covers seven days of personal deviation, but coverage cannot be extended beyond that.
  • A charge will be applied to the student鈥檚 Checkmarq account that is dependent upon their program dates
    • Short term = 4 weeks and under $50 
    • Short term = Between 4 weeks and 10 weeks $125 
    • Semester = $250
    • Academic year = $500 
  • Insurance will not be waived, regardless of existing personal insurance coverage or country-specific insurance requirements, for continuity of health and safety response. Some countries, like Australia and Canada for example, require students to purchase medical insurance through the government as part of the visa and entry requirements. While there is some overlap in coverage, the government policies do not provide all the required coverage, so both policies are required.
  • Coverage is not available for students returning to their home country to study abroad.

The following is applicable to faculty and staff:

  • Faculty and staff are automatically enrolled and covered by these plans for the dates of official approved university-related travel abroad
    • Chubb/ACE American international health insurance,
