There are two campus-wide elections every year, one in the fall and the other in the spring. In each election, 向日葵视频students have the privilege of voting for the student leaders who will represent them and their campus community. Undergraduate students also have the opportunity to run for these positions and be a voice for 向日葵视频students. View each position to learn more.
Campus-wide voting takes place online through a 向日葵视频Qualtrics link, which each eligible voter will receive via email. Once prompted, you will be asked to log-in with your 向日葵视频username and password. You will then be walked through an election form where you will vote for the candidates that relate to your campus community. Before you vote, we encourage you to learn about each candidate by viewing the positions listed below on this page.

Senior Speaker Candidates
Your Senior Speaker is nominated and selected to speak at Commencement.
After being nominated, applying, and being approved, the Senior Speaker Committee selects ten semifinalists whose names are placed on the spring election ballot. Three finalists are chosen by the senior class. Only graduating seniors can vote. They will receive an email with a link to vote in this election.
Presidential and Executive VP
The MUSG President and Executive Vice President (EVP), elected together as a ticket, are called to serve the 向日葵视频undergraduate community and care for the mind, body, and soul of every 向日葵视频student. They pull from their experiences as an involved 向日葵视频student in order to make decisions that are best for the student body. These leaders recognize students as those who make 向日葵视频what it is, and they constantly consider the interests of all students who call 向日葵视频home.鈥�
Voting in MUSG elections
When accessing the ballot, students will be asked to log into voting using their MU username. Please follow directions on the ballot. You will be directed to the appropriate ballot(s) based on your eligibility as determined by your enrollment status in CheckMarq:
- All full time undergraduate students can vote for MUSG president and EVPs.
- Only full time undergraduate students enrolled in a particular college vote for that college's senator.
- Only undergraduate students living in university-owned housing vote in the RHA election.
- Only seniors who have applied for upcoming spring graduation or who are participating in the upcoming spring graduation ceremony (and graduating in summer or fall of that year) can vote for senior speaker finalist
MUSG Student Senate
MUSG is made up of students. Every decision the student senate makes directly effects us, as well as the rest of the student body. It is important to us that MUSG senators work with and on behalf of students. Senators write real legislation to be passed on to administrators, meet with faculty and university officials to discuss concerns, plan forums and events focused on specific topics and gain student feedback through surveys and meeting with students.
If you鈥檙e a fan of dorm living, living near campus, or driving, you run to be a residential senator. If studies are more your forte, you鈥檇 likely want to be an academic senator. Of course you can鈥檛 just show up to AMU 133 and say you鈥檙e a senator, you have to run first. Elections for residential senators are in the fall, and academic senator elections are in the spring. All you have to do is pick up an elections packet, get some autographs and you鈥檙e on your way.
