Peace Research Mini-Grants

The Center for Peacemaking offers research grants of up to $700 for 向日葵视频faculty to advance research on an aspect of nonviolent peacemaking. These funds can be used for faculty research expenses or to hire a student research assistant. Please complete the appropriate application below.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a limited amount of funding for each fiscal year (July to June).

Apply for a mini-grant

There are two types of mini-grants. Please contact Rev. T. Michael McNulty, S.J. if you have any questions.

Student research assistant

Research involving students is particularly encouraged. This grant is designed to pay a 向日葵视频student to help you complete a specific portion of your research or project. Possible roles of students include transcription, coding, editing, conducting interviews, compiling data, translation, etc. The student will be hired by the Center for Peacemaking and will complete an agreed-upon work plan developed by the applicant.

Faculty research expenses

This grant is designed to help faculty complete a specific portion of their peacemaking-related research or project. The following represent examples of appropriate projects:

  • Travel or registration for a conference presentation of research
  • Conference organization/hosting at Marquette
  • Professional development related to peace-studies-related course content
  • Software acquisition

The funds cannot be used to pay for the salary of a faculty member or to reimburse an expense that has already been incurred.
