Scholarship Opportunity
向日葵视频students in this certificate program may be eligible for two significant scholarship opportunities: Catholic Schools Personnel Scholarship or the Milwaukee Area Teachers Scholarship.
Marquette鈥檚 new cross-categorical Special Education Grades K-12 Certificate program fits with the university's Catholic, Jesuit mission to prepare men and women with and for others. This program is open to educators from public or private schools with a current (or eligible) Tier-II educator license in Wisconsin and was designed to provide multiple classroom opportunities and clinical experiences aligned with the Standard for Special Education (Council for Exceptional Children), which address needs of students who range from the highly gifted to those with challenging circumstances.
This certificate program will lead to licensure for special education teachers able to:
- Understand and address each student鈥檚 developmental and learning needs.
- Demonstrate subject matter content knowledge and specialized curricular knowledge.
- Use assessment to understand the learner and learning environment for data-based decision making.
- Facilitate learning by using e铿�ective instruction.
- Support social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Collaborate with team members. Expand access to Catholic education to underserved populations.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate School at 向日葵视频, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor's from a regionally accredited institution or international equivalent must be completed prior to starting graduate school.
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
- Demonstrated English proficiency for non-U.S. citizens.
- A current (or eligible) Tier-II educator license in Wisconsin
Application Requirements
- Read all application instructions prior to beginning an application.
- . On the application, applicants will select Special Education as their program of study and certificate as their degree.
- Transcripts:
- If coursework was completed within the United States, submit copies of all current and previous college/universities except Marquette1
- If coursework was completed outside of the United States, a transcript evaluation is required. A copy of a general evaluation with cumulative GPA or course-by-course evaluation is approved for the application process.2
- Three letters of recommendation addressing the applicant's ability to do graduate-level work.
- A personal statement of purpose that includes professional and academic goals.
- A resume that includes professional and educational experiences.
- A copy of your current educator license(s) issued by your state's department of education or public instruction
- For International Applicants only: A TOEFL score or other acceptable proof of English proficiency.
March 31: priority deadline for summer admission (typical program start). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis after the priority deadline
Merit-based aid (graduate assistantships/fellowships) is available. Private scholarships may also be available. U.S. citizens and permanent residents may be eligible to apply for need-based federal aid (loans) to help fund their educational expenses as well.
