Food Trucks
These guidelines are intended to serve as a resource for university departments and student organizations that have invited FOOD TRUCK VENDORS to campus as part of an event. Food Trucks will be permitted in approved locations only (see campus map below).
- For health code and safety reasons, food trucks may only be provided by a fully licensed and insured provider. It is the responsibility of the organizing department to obtain documentation from Vendor.
- Food Truck Vendor is responsible for any damage caused to sidewalks or staining of sidewalks by grease or oil that may originate from their vehicle. It is the responsibility of the organizing department to inform Vendor of this.
- Food Truck Vendor must follow all City and State regulations while on premises.
- State law prohibits customers from bringing alcohol beverages to campus. If alcohol is desired the customer should coordinate a bar set up with the Alumni Memorial Union Event Services Office.
- The student organization or university department representative is responsible for coordinating all logistics; including contracting, set up, monitoring and clean-up of surrounding area.
- ​​​​​​​Unless otherwise noted, a limit of three (3) Food Trucks will be permitted in any one location per event.
- A space reservation, made through the AMU Event Services Department, must be made for each location/date being requested.
Approved locations:
1) Eckstein Commons - east side of AMU on N/S running sidewalk. Trucks must enter/exit from Wisconsin Avenue
2) Central Mall - N/S sidewalk of Raynor Library (14th Street). Trucks must enter/exit off of West Clybourn Street
3) Closed portion of 11th street between Cobeen and Carpenter Tower Residence Halls (limited to Office of Residence Life programming)
4) Lot A - based on availability and reserved by AMU Event Services with Parking Services approval. Limit can exceed three trucks per event in this location ONLY, based on space availability.
