Dr. Islam is a Wearable Technology researcher, and he develops novel systems with special focus on soft, flexible, and wearable applications. His general research interests include wearable technology, pervasive/ubiquitous computing, human-computer interaction, and data science. Previously, Dr. Islam worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Cornell University. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 2020.

 

Dr. Islam teaches both core and advanced-level courses at 向日葵视频related to computer science, data science, and embedded and real-time systems. He teaches the M.S. in Computer and Information Science Foundations course that aims at individuals who do not have an undergraduate degree in computing, but wish to cross over into the field. He is the Principle Investigator of the NSF S-STEM project at 向日葵视频that aims to provide scholarships for academically talented low-income graduate students who are seeking a career change in computing.
