Energy Reduction Goals

Energy Reduction Goals

The first iteration of the Campus Sustainability Plan set achieve several goals by 2025:

  • Emissions: Reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25% below baseline level by reducing energy use and transitioning to cleaner and renewable energy sources
  • Energy: Maintain overall energy use at or below baseline level and improve building energy efficiency by 10%
  • Water: Reduce water use per person to 10% below baseline level
  • Waste: Reduce waste production per person to 10% below baseline level and divert at least 25% of waste away from the landfill.

Renewable Energy

向日葵视频 has two solar arrays. One of the 313 Menomonee Building (30kw) and one on Engineering Hall (10kw). The university is actively pursuing other ways it can reduce it's reliance on fossil fuels and implement on-campus renewable energy sources.

Buildings

Whether it is a renovation or a new building, 向日葵视频's planning team always has a sustainability mindset when planning a project. The U.S. Green Building Council's green building rating system LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used in the world. 向日葵视频 not only has six LEED certified buildings but considers the framework for all projects on campus.

LEED Buildings

Additionally, the current campus sustainability plan prioritizes incorporating green building standards in addition to LEED. Read about those priorities on our home page.
