Physical and Mental Wellness Resources

At some point during your time at ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ, you will need support for your mental and physical wellness. From the Medical Clinic which will help you with your physical health needs to the Diversity Advocates who are your allies and advocates, you will find that many of your questions about your physical and mental well-being may be answered in this section.  Check out the resources that are at your disposal should you ever need to access them.

Diversity Advocates 

Diversity Advocates are people who are passionate about creating an inclusive and welcoming campus community in which everyone’s unique backgrounds, identities, cultures and perspectives are respected, embraced and celebrated. They are currently made up of administrators dedicated to provision of student services that not only enhance students’ academic performance, but also nurture the whole person.

  • Medical Clinic

    The ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ Medical Clinic, in support of the Catholic, Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, or care for the whole person, is committed to advancing the overall health and well-being of our students while at the same time supporting their cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social development. Their services are based on the health needs of the population, are prevention-focused and multidisciplinary.

  • Counseling Center
    In support of the University’s value for Cura Personalis, it is the MU Counseling Center’s mission to promote a holistic approach to the psychological health and development of all students, which contributes to the attainment of their educational objectives at MU as well as responsible community membership.

  • Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Program
    At Marquette, we understand that each student arrives to campus with different experiences with alcohol. Whether you have experience with alcohol or not, or whether you plan to incorporate alcohol into your college experience or not, these pages have been created to provide you with information that will help you make an informed decision. 

  • CARE Team

    The CARE (Campus Assessment Response and Education) Team is a cross-functional team that assesses, refers and/or responds to students identified as demonstrating emotional distress in a coordinated and comprehensive manner with dignity and respect, to help them succeed and to ensure the safety of the university community as a whole.

    If you are concerned about the overall safety or mental health of a student and would like the university to follow-up, please make a referral using the referral form 

Campus Safety

  • Department of Campus Safety

    The ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ Department of Campus Safety provides transports for ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵstudents, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. They work closely with the  to ensure safe travel throughout campus.

  • LIMO Services
    The Department of Campus Safety offers transports 365 days a year to keep members of the ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵcommunity safe at night. They have 7 vans in their fleet, each holding up to 13 passengers. All student drivers undergo an intense training process to ensure passenger safety. While they strive to provide speedy service, their priority is your safety. LIMOs do not simply drop off passengers, but wait until passengers have arrived safely in their home, car, or building.

Free Food Resources on Campus

  • Backpack Program: Free Food 
    The Backpack Program is a free and confidential service that provides groceries to any ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵstudent who is having difficulty accessing affordable, nutritious food and other essential household items. After filling out an intake form, students will be able to pick up a few days-worth of groceries and additional personal products. No student will be turned away. Advocacy Services 

  • Advocacy Services

    A university sexual violence victim advocate is available to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance for victims of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, or sexual harassment. The advocates are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are just a phone call or an email away. Advocacy services is a confidential resource, which means that they will not report what you share with them to the Title IX Coordinator.

  • Title IX Director

    Marquette’s Title IX Director (Cara Hardin) is the university official responsible for coordinating Marquette’s efforts to comply with Title IX and all associated regulations, including the investigation of complaints falling under the university’s Title IX Sexual Harassment, Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct Policy. The Title IX coordinator oversees and is supported by four deputy Title IX coordinators.

    To report an incident of sexual harassment (including stalking and sexual assault) or sex discrimination involving a ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ student, faculty, staff or visitor, contact the Title IX coordinator or any deputy Title IX coordinator.

    The Department of Recreational Sports embraces the Jesuit philosophy of education in developing the Mind, Body and Spirit and fosters the out of classroom experience.

    Recreational Sports will facilitate the transformational learning experience by engaging students in a comprehensive wellness and activities program to develop and promote healthy lifestyles, leadership development and lifetime skills and sportsmanship.
