Office of Residence Life student employees are the complement to our professional staff and absolutely integral to the department's efforts. These committed students are the ones who have the most contact with our residents and have the best opportunities to make a positive difference in their living environments.
Resident Assistants (RA)
The Resident Assistant (RA) position is a premiere leadership position within the Office of Residence Life. The main function of the RA is to build relationships with residents in an effort to provide individualized support, campus resource information, and academic encouragement. The goal of the RA is to ensure that 向日葵视频feels like home for residential students by building community within their respective wing or floor.
The ideal RA candidate is a current student who has community living experience, a minimum 2.50 GPA, and a desire to make an impact on the lives of his/her peers. Quality candidates will have a commitment to personal integrity, serving members of their peer group, and engaging in personal development.

Facilities Managers (FM)
Each residence hall has a facilities manager who is responsible for maintaining the building. Though facilities managers don't do repairs, they coordinate maintenance and custodial efforts and ensure that they are completed in a timely, efficient manner. They also are responsible for the upkeep of the front desk and supervision of the desk receptionist staff.
Apartment Managers (AM)
The Apartment Manager (AM) is an integral part of the team that provides for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the university apartments, as well as the ongoing preservation of the facilities and services within these communities.
The Apartment Manager is immediately supervised by the Assistant Dean for University Apartments, but collaborates with other Residence Life staff members on a regular basis, including the Associate Dean for University Apartments & Off-campus Student Services, the Assistant Director for Housing and Conference Services, and the Associate Dean for Administrative Services.
Graduate Assistants (AHD)
In our largest buildings, residence hall directors are assisted by graduate assistant hall directors. These students advise the community programming councils, assist resident assistants with community efforts and help hall directors with administrative duties.
There are also graduate assistants who work with student leadership, diversity and inclusion, and special living communities.
Desk Receptionists (DR)
The Desk Receptionist (DR) position is the most visible position in the Office of Residence Life serving as the initial representative of the residence hall or apartment building on Marquette鈥檚 campus. The DR is first and foremost, a safety and security checkpoint for the building. DRs maintain a high standard of customer service when interacting with both residents/tenants of the residence halls/apartments as well as parents, facilities staff, and people outside of the university community.
