Clinical Work

Dr. Gerdes enjoys working with children, teens, and adults with a range of presenting concerns at LifeStance Health 1 day/week.

Research Interests

For 20 years, Dr. Gerdes’ clinical and research interests centered around childhood ADHD and Latino mental health disparities. Her research involved both basic and applied work that served to inform and guide clinicians when treating childhood ADHD. Primary research interests included examining evidence-based assessment and treatment of childhood ADHD, culturally-appropriate clinical practices and Latino mental health disparities, and parent-child and peer relationships of youth with ADHD.

More recently, Dr. Gerdes shifted her research interests to focus on wellness and helping students learn ways to enhance and maintain their personal wellness. In addition to refining a wellness program that she developed for undergraduate and graduate students with a colleague, she also is working to adapt this program to be delivered to middle school and high school students in local schools.
