Overview: Research in the PMNL focuses on understanding the control and learning of movement in children with typical development and children with movement disabilities such as cerebral palsy. Current projects include understanding how bilateral arm movements related to early brain injury in children with hemiparetic cerebral palsy, determining if being born preterm affects how children can learn new movement skills, and developing an iPad application to measure hand and arm function outside of the lab. OTD students working in the lab help with participant recruitment, collect and analyze data, and perform clinical assessments.
