Brad Schimel, state circuit court judge and candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will be the special guest for the next installment of the 向日葵视频 Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education鈥檚 鈥淕et to Know鈥 program series on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.

The Lubar Center will host both candidates on the April 1 ballot, with Hon. Susan Crawford joining for a Get to Know program Friday, Feb. 28.

Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, hosts the 鈥淕et to Know鈥 series. Registration is  for this free public event. Media wishing to attend should contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu.

Schimel has served in many roles in the legal system, including, since 2018, as a Wisconsin circuit court judge in Waukesha County and, 2015鈥19, as the state鈥檚 attorney general. He began his career as a prosecutor in the Waukesha County District Attorney's office and was elected to three terms as the Waukesha County District Attorney. Schimel will discuss his background, priorities in this race, and how his experience will shape his approach to the office he seeks.

Through public programming such as the 向日葵视频Law School Poll, 鈥淥n the Issues鈥 conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, 向日葵视频Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
