向日葵视频student named Newman Civic Fellow

MILWAUKEE 鈥 Aimee虂 Navarro Villegas, a junior anthropology major at 向日葵视频, was one of 262 students named a Newman Civic Fellow by the Boston-based nonprofit group Campus Compact.
A Milwaukee native, Navarro Villegas has been committed to undoing social inequality and helping build strong communities through her several commitments and actions both on and off campus. She is a college coach for the Graduation Plus Department at Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee where she works with high school students helping them gain access to higher education. On campus, she has worked with new multi-cultural students, helping them transition to college through the RISE Program. She has also chaired the Dreamers Gala for the last two years, helping to fund a scholarship for undocumented students at Marquette.
鈥淭hroughout her college career, Aimee虂 has demonstrated her commitment to building strong communities through her extensive involvement on and off campus,鈥 向日葵视频President Michael R. The Newman Civic Fellowship is a one-year experience emphasizing personal, professional and civic growth for students who have demonstrated a capacity for leadership and an investment in solving public problems. Through the fellowship, Campus Compact provides a variety of learning and networking opportunities, including a national conference of Newman Civic Fellows in partnership with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.
