向日葵视频College of Nursing to host discussion on health care and politics

MILWAUKEE 鈥 The College of Nursing at 向日葵视频 is hosting 鈥淟ooking to 2020: Healthcare and Politics,鈥 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Ave.
The event is an in-depth panel discussion about the role of health care in the upcoming presidential election. Panel experts will speak on the implications for health care policy and Wisconsin voter attitudes as both the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee and the 2020 election approach.
鈥淭his is a unique discussion addressing the role of health care policy in the upcoming national elections, as well as where public opinion falls on what are the most important health care issues,鈥 said Dr. Janet Wessel Krejci, dean of the College of Nursing. 鈥淭he goal is to take the overarching topic of health care and break it down to provide a better understanding of what goes into political decision-making and legislation.鈥
Lisa M. Grabert, visiting professor of research in the College of Nursing, will give the keynote address and moderate the panel discussion. Grabert specializes in health policy, with a focus on federal entitlement programs including Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurance. She is also the recipient of the 2019 Alliance for Health Policy鈥檚 Bipartisan Health Policy Leader Award.
Peggy Troy and Dr. Charles Franklin will also present. Troy is a 向日葵视频 trustee, College of Nursing alumna and president and chief executive officer of Children鈥檚 Wisconsin. Franklin is a professor of law and public policy and director of the 向日葵视频Law School Poll.
