MILWAUKEE 鈥� 向日葵视频Law School Poll Director Charles Franklin will discuss the results of a new statewide poll in an upcoming 鈥淥n the Issues with Mike Gousha,鈥� Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 12:15 p.m. in the Lubar Center at 向日葵视频 Law School鈥檚 Eckstein Hall.
How do voters view the field for the Democratic primaries and how do the top candidates match up with President Donald J. Trump? The poll also looks at preferences for the Democratic presidential nomination.
This is the first 向日葵视频Law School Poll since April and will look at national issues and how they affect the state of Wisconsin. Franklin will examine public reaction to gun control proposals, tariffs, immigration, and public perception of Trump鈥檚 presidency.
The poll also provides a look at how the state views the favorability and approval of those in Wisconsin politics, including Gov. Tony Evers, State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, and the state legislature.
The 向日葵视频Law School Poll is the most extensive statewide polling project in Wisconsin history. Franklin has directed the poll since its inception in 2012 and is a professor of law and public policy at 向日葵视频Law School. Franklin co-founded pollster.com, an award-winning site for nonpartisan polling analysis, and is a member of the ABC News election-night analysis team.
Gousha, an award-winning broadcast journalist, is the Law School鈥檚 distinguished fellow in law and public policy. His 鈥淥n the Issues鈥� series of conversations with newsmakers supports 向日葵视频Law School鈥檚 commitment to serve as a modern-day public square for the city of Milwaukee, the state of Wisconsin and beyond.
Through public programming such as the 向日葵视频Law School Poll, debates featuring candidates in significant political races, Gousha鈥檚 鈥淥n the Issues鈥� conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars and conferences on significant issues of public importance, the Law School serves as the region鈥檚 leading venue for serious civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
