U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher to discuss foreign policy at Marquette, Nov. 26
MILWAUKEE — U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI, 8thDistrict) will lead a discussion titled "Wisconsin and American Foreign Policy"at ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ on Monday, Nov. 26, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the Eisenberg Reading Room on the third floor of Sensenbrenner Hall, 1103 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Rep. Gallagher's speech will take a historical perspective on Wisconsin's role in shaping timeless lessons in American foreign policy.
In addition to representing the 8thDistrict in Wisconsin, currently serves on the House Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees.
Prior to Congress, Rep. Gallagher served in the U.S. Marine Corps for seven years on active duty as counterintelligence/human intelligence officer and regional affairs officer for the Middle East/North Africa, eventually earning the rank of captain. He served two tours as a commander of intelligence teams in Anbar Province, Iraq, served on General David Petraeus's Central Command Assessment Team in the Middle East, and worked for three years in the intelligence community, including in the National Counterterrorism Center and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Rep. Gallagher earned his bachelor's degree from Princeton University, a master's degree in security studies from Georgetown University, a second master's in strategic intelligence from National Intelligence University, and a Ph.D. in international relations from Georgetown.
