MILWAUKEE 鈥� An associate professor of political science at Ohio State University will give a keynote presentation during a 向日葵视频Forum event on Friday, Sept. 28, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Eisenberg Reading Room in Sensenbrenner Hall, 1103 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Dr. Michael A. Neblo, who also is director of the Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability at Ohio State, will discuss "Politics with the People," addressing concerns about the health of representative democracy around the world. He will discuss worries about resurgent nationalism as well as accusations of "democratic deficits" against technocrats.
Neblo will present realistic reform proposals based on his research into what ails democratic politics in the United States.

This academic year, 向日葵视频is holding events focused on civic dialogue and the state of democracies across the world centered around the theme "Democracy in Troubled Times." The forum, which is in its third year, aims to engage students, faculty, staff and the communities making up greater Milwaukee in conversations surrounding questions of democracy.
