Participation in the performing arts has traditionally been an important aspect of Jesuit education. The music minor will appeal to students who desire a music concentration to supplement their chosen disciplinary major, both within the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication as well as across the university.

Increased musical training will improve the performance quality of university ensembles that are often called upon to perform at university special events, increase ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ's profile within the Milwaukee and Wisconsin artistic community, and foster increased connections and collaborative opportunities with local professional musicians.

Ensemble performance courses — MUSI 1100, MUSI 1200 and MUSI 1300 — are credit-generating courses that can be used to complete the minor. Other courses include music theory, conducting, carillon, music history, business of music and music technology.
