Alexandra (Alix) Riley serves as the chief academic effectiveness officer. Reporting to the provost, she is responsible for academic effectiveness, program review, institutional accreditation, and supporting academic planning and strategy. She oversees the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis and the Office of Assessment. In this role, Riley works closely with leadership, faculty and staff to ensure data and information are available, accurate and actionable for decision-making.
Riley joined ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵin 2007 as a managerial reporting specialist in the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis and most recently served as the director of the office. In 2018, Riley was a recipient of the Excellence in University Service Award. Prior to Marquette, Riley worked as a statistician at Assurant Health in Milwaukee and at the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Washington, D.C.
Riley holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and statistics and a master’s degree in statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She serves on the steering committee of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities’ Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Assessment Network. She and her husband, Joe, have two children and are actively involved in robotics in their children's school district.
