This deconstructed art experience, created by , is brought to Milwaukee under the direction of . Milwaukee residents representing professional and non-professional performers of all body types, ages, and abilities/disabilities will move minimally through an hour-long silent installation.

The performance is part of On Display Global, created by Heidi Latsky Dance as a social justice initiative performed annually in honor of the United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd. Videos of the live performances of On Display Global from cities all over the world will be presented with their local community members as a vigil on that day.

Please join us for this engaging 20-minute Lunchtime Talk featuring the work of LaToya Ruby Frazier. Frazier’s art foregrounds the stories of people who are routinely left out of our standard narratives of the American experience. This month’s Art Talk will focus on four photographs from her series The Notion of Family that are currently on view in the Haggerty’s anniversary exhibition The Big 4-0: New Views of the Collection. Taking herself, her family, and her hometown of Braddock, Pennsylvania, as her subjects, Frazier’s images find universal resonance in the meaningful details of everyday circumstances. After the discussion, you can stay to continue the conversation or explore the Haggerty's current exhibitions.

We welcome the jurors for the twenty-second cycle of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists program with an informal reception on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 6 p.m. The panelists will offer brief overviews of their home institutions and curatorial interests beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Ring in the New Year with a special behind-the-scenes event. Preview the new 40th anniversary Spring exhibition before it is open to the public. Museum staff will share insights into the installation, the works on view, and take a group down to the vault to see other select collection highlights. Then join us for a celebratory toast to the New Year with fellow Haggerty supporters.
