  • Dr. Brian Schmit is a sub-awardee on a project led by Drs. Xiaoyan Li and Paul Barkhaus at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The 15-month project is funded by NIH in the amount of $431,700 for the project titled, 鈥淗igh-density surface EMG based CMAP scan for motor unit number estimation.鈥�  The subaward to 向日葵视频is $36,581.

  • Dr. Jordan Williams has been awarded a 1-year $125,000 NIH K12 grant from the Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center Development Program for the project titled, 鈥淎ddressing the clinical feasibility of peripheral optogenetic strategies for spinal cord injury rehabilitation.鈥�

  • Dr. Bob Scheidt (PI) along with Co-Is Dr. Scott Beardsley, Dr. Leigh Ann Mrotek, and Dr. Kristy Nielson, have received a 2-year $420,750 award from the National Institutes of Health for the project titled, 鈥淣eural mechanisms of error correction during manual interception of moving targets.鈥�

  • Dr. Rob Cooper received a 1-year award in the amount of $39,226 for a collaborative project with Translational Imaging Innovations, Inc. titled, 鈥淰alidating Automated Photoreceptor Analytics Software For Degenerative Eye Disease Research and Biopharma Clinical Trials.鈥�  The work is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.

  • Dr. Adam Greenberg, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has received a 3 year, $695,051 grant from the National Science Foundation for the project titled, 鈥渇MRI Reverse Correlation as a Novel Method for Revealing Computations Underlying Perceptual Grouping.鈥� The project employs a completely new approach to studying both object perception and perceptual grouping, and their relationship.

  • From the Water Equipment and Policy I/UCRC, Dr. Brooke Mayer (PI) and Dr. Pat McNamara (Co-PI) have received a 1-year award in the amount of $75,000 for the project, 鈥淣ovel Iron-Based Electrocoagulation-Peroxidation Treatment Process for Removal of PFAS.鈥�
  • From the Water Equipment and Policy I/UCRC, Dr. Walter McDonald has received a 1-year award in the amount of $50,000 for the project, 鈥淩emote sensing and machine learning to assess urban watershed best management practices.鈥�

  • Drs. John Borg and Brooke Mayer are Co-Investigators on a 1-year award from Kohler Company along with Drs. Krassimira Hristova (PI) and Chris Marshall (Co-I) from Biological Sciences. The award is $84,707 for the project titled, 鈥淪hear Stress Required to Remove Microorganisms from Common Bath Surfaces Using Moving Air.鈥�

  • Dr. Brooke Mayer, Associate Professor of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, 向日葵视频is part of a 5-year, $25M dollar initiative, Science and Technologies for Phosphorus Sustainability (STEPS) Science and Technology Center (STC), funded by the National Science Foundation.

  • The following faculty have received grant awards from WaterCARE:

    • Patrick McNamara (PI) and Dr. Dan Zitomer (Co-PI) received $70,037 for a 1-year project titled, 鈥淯nderstanding Microbial Community Dynamics of Activated Sludge to Predict and Mitigate Foaming Events 鈥� Phase II.鈥�
    • Baolin Wan received $62,702 for a 1-year project titled, 鈥淯se of Wastewater Grit and Milorganite Chaff in Concrete.鈥�
    • Tony Parolari received $81,377 for a 1-year project titled, 鈥淕reen Infrastructure Impact on Sewer Overflows.鈥�
    • Dan Zitomer (PI) and Dr. Dong Hye Ye (Co-PI) received $60,837 for a 1-year project titled, 鈥淪upplement 2021: Novel Algorithm to Increase Anaerobic Co-Digestion.鈥�

  • Dr. Qindan Huang received a 1-year award in the amount of $50,000 for a collaborative project with Dr. Hao Wang at Rutgers titled, 鈥淧robabilistic Performance Modeling and Optimum Maintenance Planning of Plastic Pipeline with Piezoelectric Based NDE Updating.鈥�  This work is supported by the US Department of Transportation.

  • Drs. Dan Zitomer (PI) and Brooke Mayer (Co-PI) have received a 5-year, $225,000 award from the National Science Foundation for the project, 鈥淚UCRC Phase III: 向日葵视频: Center for Water Equipment and Policy (WEP).鈥�  Other collaborating faculty include Drs. Patrick McNamara, Walter McDonald, Tony Parolari, and Kaushik Venkiteshwaran.

  • From the Water Equipment and Policy I/UCRC, Dr. Chung Hoon Lee (PI) and Dr. Jim Richie (Co-PI) have received a 1-year award in the amount of $50,000 for the project, 鈥淯ltra sensitive 30 nm thick SiN membrane pressure sensors.鈥�
  • From the Water Equipment and Policy I/UCRC, Dr. Chung Hoon Lee (PI), Dr. Jim Richie (Co-PI), and Dr. Henry Medeiros (Co-PI) have received a 1-year award in the amount of $50,000 for the project, 鈥淎 Continuous Heavy Metal Contaminant Measurement System in Drinking Water.鈥�

  • Dr. Dong Hye Ye received a 1-year award in the amount of $93,643 for a collaborative project with Purdue University titled, 鈥淣ovel Platform for Quantitative Subcellular Resolution Imaging of Human Tissues Using Mass Spectrometry.鈥�  This work is funded by the National Institutes of Health.  Dr. Ye has also received a 1-year award in the amount of $45,350 for the project 鈥淒eep Learning-based Image Enhancement and Standardization for Multi-Contrast Brain MRI鈥� from Hankuk University.
