Mary and Bill's father, Louis graduated from 向日葵视频Law School in 1933, at the height of the Great Depression. After following his path as a Law School graduate herself, his daughter Mary, started a scholarship in his honor.

“The reason I founded this scholarship was learning about our father’s financial struggles to get through 向日葵视频Law School from reading his memoirs,” Mary says.

Bill, graduated from 向日葵视频Law School in 1961, became an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and spent more than 40 years as a trial lawyer. Today, he dedicates time to service in Milwaukee, including as a volunteer at the Guest House and a tutor at the Adult Learning Center. The most influential person in his life is his late wife, Kathy, who passed away in 2009.

“My parents were good and loving and surely helpful in my formation, as were several teachers, but Kathy had more to do with me being the person I am than any other human being,” he says.

Mary graduated from 向日葵视频Law School in 1971 and eventually joined her father at the bank he was running in Marinette, Wis. Mary started the bank’s trust department and succeeded her father, first as the bank’s president and then as chairman of the board. The most influential person in her life is her brother, Rev. John Staudenmaier, S.J.聽

“John has been a mentor and spiritual adviser throughout my lifetime,” she says. “His training as a Jesuit priest has been passed through to me in many ways, including podcasts he has created on the Spiritual Exercises. He is a friend, role model and delight in my life.”
