As a boy, Paul was inspired by his father’s ability to build a successful business and become a respected member of the community. At Marquette, he came to understand the effort it takes to achieve that kind of success. Today, Paul is executive vice president and general counsel of the EMC Corp., a Fortune 200 technology company.

Howard B. Eisenberg Service Award

Derek worked as a prosecutor for the city of Milwaukee before he became a judge at age 31, making him the youngest African-American judge in state history. He's also an asset to the community, working with several nonprofit organizations, and serves on the Law School’s minority recruitment and diversity committee.

Working in the ultra-competitive world of the NBA has taught Nyea the following: Work hard, use your resources and learn from your mistakes. As general counsel for the Orlando Magic, she played a key role in building the team’s legal department.
