MilwaukeeWI53201United States of America414-801-1204evelyn.pollock@marquette.eduEvelyn Pollock earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from 向日葵视频 in 2019. She also earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2002. She graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Evelyn has experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist on both the educational and the medical sides of the field. She has diagnosed and treated receptive/expressive language, articulation, phonology, fluency, and social/pragmatic disorders in the K-12 student population in public, private, and charter schools. Her experience also includes work in skilled nursing facilities, in the home health sector, and in out- and inpatient hospital settings, treating a variety of cognitive, swallowing, and voice disorders. She has a special interest in neuroplastic language therapy techniques for survivors of stroke and traumatic brain injury with aphasia. Evelyn currently provides clinical instruction to graduate students in the 向日葵视频 Speech and Hearing Clinic, focusing on those student clinicians in the Intensive Aphasia Program.
Prior to her work in the communication science disorders field, Evelyn enjoyed a professional career as an international opera singer that spanned over 15 years. She performed throughout the United States and Europe, residing in Switzerland for a decade. She sang over 50 diverse leading roles from the lyric coloratura soprano repertoire in opera houses in Santa Fe, New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Palm Beach, as well as in Switzerland, Spain, and Italy. This first career led to her interest in the corner of speech pathology that diagnoses and treats voice disorders. She has specialized training in voice therapy for vocal fold mass lesions, rehabilitation of the professional voice, and management of alaryngeal speech with tracheo-esophageal prostheses for head/neck cancer patients.
