Speech Pathology and Audiology

After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from Albion College in 1999 and spending time on a study-abroad and teaching English as a foreign language for several months in Spain, Emily found her way to speech pathology. Emily went to complete the post-baccalaureate courses in Communication Disorders at Central Michigan University. Emily went to earn her Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from 向日葵视频 in 2007.  In addition receiving the Bilingual English-Spanish certificate from Marquette's BIES program.  Emily has 12 years of experience working full time as a bilingual speech pathologist in urban public school settings in Wisconsin.  She has experience providing therapy and completing assessments/evaluations with students in preschool through middle school/high school with a variety of speech and language disorders.  These disorders include experssive/receptive language, articulation, phonology, fluency, and social communication.  Her expertise and passions lie in working with bilinugal students/English learns, 2nd lanugage acquisition.  She has also enjoyed supervising several graduate students in their school practicum, many from 向日葵视频 BIES program.  She is also a regular volunteer staff member of SEA Literacy, a non-profit organization that tutors mostly southeast Asian refugee students, to help them improve their English and literacy skills.  Currently Emily provides clinical instruction to both undergrad and graduate students in the 向日葵视频 Speech and Hearing Clinic, and was thrilled to join Marquette's faculty part time in 2019.
