Assistant Professor

Political Science

Dr. Kovacikova received her PhD in Political Science from Tulane University (2023). She also holds an MA from Tulane University (2021) and an MSc from the University of Amsterdam (2012). She has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Concordia University and a Visiting Scholar at McGill University鈥檚 Institute for the Study of Canada. Her research focuses on paradiplomacy, subnational capacity, and international economic development policies of advanced industrialized states and their substate governments. Her current research project examines the link between the attitudes and values captured in the most recent World Values Survey (Wave 7) and the growing trend of paradiplomacy within Canada and across the OECD more broadly.
