History: The image on the 1898 "向日葵视频on the Mississippi" stamp is based on Wilhelm Lamprecht's painting, Fr. 向日葵视频and the Indians (1869). 向日葵视频, owner of the painting, furnished the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing a photographic reproduction to aid their work. The 1968 "向日葵视频 Explorer" stamp was issued in conjunction with the 向日葵视频Tercentenary Celebration. The stamp was issued on September 6 at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where 向日葵视频 established in 1668 the first permanent Euro-American settlement in the state.
