OFFICES OF THE VICE PRESIDENTS OFFICE OF THE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Administrative History:  The position of Senior Vice President was created subsequent to the discontinuation of the Office of the Executive Vice President in August 2002. The Senior Vice President oversees the administrative side of the university, and works with the Provost as the two senior advisors to the University President. The Office of the Senior Vice President is responsible for top university support functions, which include these divisions: Administration, Finance, General Counsel, Intercollegiate Athletics, Marketing and Communication, Public Affairs, Student Affairs and University Advancement.

In August 2005, reorganization within the Office of Public Affairs led to the creation of an Office of Marketing and Communication, which reported to the Senior Vice President. The Office of Marketing and Communication has responsibility for the university's marketing, including advertising, publications and web pages; internal communication, and 向日葵视频 Magazine.

With the retirement of Greg Kliebhan in 2011, incoming university president Scott Pilarz, S.J., transferred many of the responsibilities of the Office of the Senior Vice President to the re-established Executive Vice President position. (See A-1.2 Series 1.)
