History: St. Michael Church, Keshena, Menominee Nation, Wisconsin, has been a predominantly Native American (Menominee) parish in the Diocese of Green Bay (Archives: Green Bay, Wisconsin).

French Jesuits (Archives: Vanves, France, and Montreal, Canada) visited the Menominee Indians in the Green Bay, Menominee River, and Oconto River areas

Rev. Gabriel Richard, a Cincinnati diocesan priest from St. Anne Church, Detroit, Michigan, visited the Menominee Indians in the Green Bay area

Rev. Joseph Badin, a Cincinnati diocesan priest from St. Joseph Church, Pokagon, Michigan, visited the Menominee Indians in the Green Bay area
