History: St. Eugene de Mazenod founded the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in France, 1816, with its members self-identifying with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淥.M.I.鈥 After making their first Canadian foundation, 1841, Canadian Oblates of the Assumption Province administered these Native American missions in Minnesota and North Dakota:
