History: The Sisters of St. Joseph self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淪.S.J.鈥� Those from Buffalo, New York, made their first foundation in Watertown, 1880, and established Mater Dei College in Ogdensburg, 1960-2000 (closed). Under Sister Mary Christine, S.S.J., they served the Mohawk community at St. Regis Mission.
