History: The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet were founded in France, ca. 1650, and have self-identified with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淐.S.J.鈥 They made their first U.S. foundation, 1836, and engaged in teaching and evangelizing Native Americans through the following provinces:
