History: St. Francis of Assisi founded the Franciscans (a.k.a. Order of Friars Minor) in Italy, 1209, who self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淥.F.M.鈥 In the present-day United States, they have administered the following provinces and jurisdictions through which they evangelized Native Americans.
