History: The Ursulines were founded in Italy, 1535, and self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淥.S.U.鈥� They made their first foundation in the present-day United States in New Orleans, 1727. The Ursulines of the Roman Union, which were established 1900, and have administered the following provinces and Motherhouses, through which they have staffed schools and parishes serving Native Americans in the present-day United States.
