History: The Diocese of Orange in California was erected for Orange County from territory in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, 1976. The Orange Diocese and its predecessors have administered Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, California, which continues to serve some Native American (Cahuilla, Juane帽o [Acjachemen]) parishioners.
