History: The Diocese of Santa Rosa in California was erected for northern California from territory in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Diocese of Sacramento, 1962. The Santa Rosa Diocese reported fewer than 1,000 baptized Native American Catholics, 1999. The Santa Rosa Diocese and its predecessors have administered the following Native missions, parishes, and schools in Mendocino, Humboldt, Lake, and Sonoma Counties, California: 

1823-ca. 1840s (no longer Native) (Santa Rosa, 1962)

San Francisco de Solano Mission (Miwok, Pomo, Wintun, Yuki), Sonoma 

1875-1922 (closed) (Santa Rosa, 1962)

St. Turibius Mission/ St. Peter Mission and School (Pomo, Yuki), Kelseyville

1888-1971 (closed) (Santa Rosa, 1962-1971)

St. Patrick Mission (Pomo), Yokayo Rancheria

1893-present (Santa Rosa, 1962-present)

St. Francis Chapel (Pomo), Hopland Rancheria

1904-1940 (Santa Rosa, 1962)

St. Anthony Mission (Pomo), Mendocino
