History: Founded in Spain, 1848, the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淚.H.M.鈥� They made their first U.S. foundation in Los Angeles, California, 1871, and founded the United States Province, 1919. Based at San Solano Missions, Topawa, the Sisters staffed the following Catholic schools with Native American students in the Diocese of Tucson (Archives: Tucson, Arizona).
