History: Saint Marguerite d鈥橸ouville (1701-1771) founded the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart (a.k.a. Congregation of the Sisters of Charity) in Montreal. They self-identify with the post-nominal initials, G.N.S.H.;鈥� they made their first U.S. foundation, 1921; moved to Philadelphia, 1922; and have staffed St. Mary鈥檚 School (Eskimo), Kodiak, Alaska, 1956-present.
