History: Founded by St. Paul of the Cross, 1720, the Passionists (a.k.a. Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ) self-identify with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淐.P.鈥 They made their first U.S. foundation, 1852, and established the Holy Cross Province, 1906, and in so doing, they have administered St. Francis Church, St. Paul, Neosho County, Kansas, 1895-present, and administered the records of the Jesuits鈥 former Osage Mission, which had been on that site.
